I take my camera. I may visit a new place or one I’ve seen before; choose a subject or be surprised.
I want to present things in a way that causes the viewer to observe.
We have the technology to immediately capture whatever is in front of us. The challenge is for people to slow down; to question whether there is only one way to look at something; and to search for new meaning in something they may have seen before.
Can you see the snowflakes?
Dimensions: 42 x 40 x 7 Media: Soft Sculpture, Mixed Cloth Artist Statement : My soft sculptures are constructed using repurposed materials, primarily denim and other fabrics donated from family and friends. My creative process begins with cutting material and sewing pleats to imbue the fabric with structure. I use a Singer industrial sewing machine that my father acquired in New York as an immigrant decades ago. This body of work investigates ideas of traditional women’s labor, the interplay between craft and fine arts, and circular economies aimed at eliminating waste.
Dimensions: 25 x 20 Media: Computer-Evolved Digital Composition, LE 1/3 Artist Statement : My work honors past revolutionary art movements while reimagining their core ideas through modern tools. I call my process Computer-Evolved Digital Composition, blending photography, painting, assemblage, and digital elements into layered works. Each piece begins with a foundational image—whether a photograph, painting, or digital construct—serving as a base for transformation. AI-based techniques may enhance the work, but they remain tools rather than final decision-makers. Every composition undergoes multiple refinements, sometimes through fourth- or fifth-generation iterations, ensuring my artistic intent guides the final result. My work explores the intersection of tradition and technology, embracing digital art as a medium while maintaining the innovation that has driven past artistic movements.

Artist Statement : Kathleen Miles is a New York City based artist who focuses on digital media, but also works with traditional media using acrylic and gouache paints. Her digital paintings are bold and colorful abstracts with geometric structures, layered elements, as well as painterly details and textures that are revealed when viewed at close range. Patterns and forms are repeated, conveying energy, movement and rhythm. The most basic shapes such as triangles, squares, and circles are a source of inspiration. The compositions are built primarily with many iterations of shapes that vary in size and angles, but fit together with the aim of expressing a dynamic whole. Color plays a vital role, delineating each element, creating rhythms and interplay.
