Photography

The beauty of national parks and other natural places draw millions of visitors every year. I have been fortunate enough to work several times in Yosemite-one of the nation’s crown jewel parks-and out of that experience, I have learned that while the concrete is often beautiful, the abstract can open a new vistas into wild and wonderful palaces. My submissions to this competition are on that theme: how the abstract can help us to think of familiar “postcard” places in wholly new and different ways.
The image is of "streams" of minerals floating atop the waters of one of an untold number of hot springs in Yellowstone National Park.
