Digital Collage

This piece is taken from the tenth chapter in my ongoing A Virtual Memory audio-visual art project. The album associated with this collage was released in the winter of 2023, made in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Musically, it was crafted from early 2020 up until late 2022; effectively serving as a sonic document of what those years felt like. Artistically, the record’s companion art series (of which this piece is a part) is comprised of various elements taken exclusively from the Smithsonian’s Open Access Archive, collectively serving as a unique rumination on the passage of time and our relationship with it, especially in terms of death, decay, and transformation.
